NETWORK MARIENTHAL
EUROPE GROWING TOGHETER
Il tradizionale Intercultural Meeting del Network Marienthal si è svolto dal 22 al 27 settembre 2025, nell’ International Meeting Center St. Marienthal, all’interno della meravigliosa cornice del Convento di Marienthal/Ostritz (Germania).
St. Marienthal è un luogo di incontro per studenti provenienti da tutta Europa, che qui partecipano a laboratori a loro scelta. Le attività tra cui scegliere sono tante: fotografia, origami e matematica, cortometraggi, scrittura creativa e molto altro. Il programma prevede anche altre esperienze, come una gita a Görlitz, le serate nazionali o un dibattito. Quest’ultimo si svolge il lunedì pomeriggio: ogni anno, infatti, ciascun Paese seleziona due studenti per confrontarsi su temi di grande attualità riguardanti il futuro dell’Europa e del mondo intero. Il tema scelto per quest’anno è stato: “L’intelligenza artificiale: opportunità o perdita di controllo? – In che modo l’IA pu influenzare il nostro futuro?”
Durante gli incontri gli studenti partecipanti si sono confronti, si sono scambiati la propria visione sulle tematiche proposte, hanno illustrato le proprie prospettive ed hanno espresso le proprie opinioni e i propri sentimenti, attraverso la partecipazione ad attività laboratoriali in piccoli gruppi di studenti di varie nazionalità.
Quest’anno hanno partecipato 9 alunni della nostra scuola e alcune docenti.
In totale la partecipazione è stata la più ampia di sempre, con più di 70 studenti e 18 docenti provenienti da 8 città:

Banja Luka (Bosnia) 
Sieradz (Polonia)

e, per la seconda volta:

- On Friday afternoon & Saturday: Cooking, baking and preparing everything for the ultimate farewell party on Saturday evening – with Linda & Sanita, teachers from Latvia

In the last few years, artificial intelligence has become more popular than ever before, mostly because Chat GPT and programs for creating pictures or songs have become accessible for everybody. Some students even started to use AI for school and older people were fascinated by AI generated images. This happened in 2023 and now, two years later, some people use AI on a daily basis. The most discussed points in the debate were medicine and critical thinking. Students who were pro-AI often argued that artificial intelligence is a great tool in fields like medicine thanks to its ability to quickly analyse large amounts of data and recognise patterns.

ANNO SCOLASTICO 2024-2025
Grazie alla collaborazione con l’istituto Isabel La Católica di Madrid, che a maggio 2024 ha ospitato la nostra prima mobilità Erasmus + per studenti, abbiamo avuto la possibilità di entrare come scuola partner nel Network di Marienthal.
Questo Network, fondato nel 1994 su iniziativa della St. Ursula Schule di Hannover, è nato con lo scopo di portare l’Europa dentro la scuola e di promuovere l’ideale di Europa unita attraverso la creazione di uno spazio di istruzione europea su piccola scala.
Da allora, ogni anno il Network Marienthal organizza incontri con un tema diverso, sempre relazionato con l’Europa, nell’ International Meeting Center St. Marienthal, all’interno della meravigliosa cornice del Convento di Marienthal/Ostritz (Germania).
Durante gli incontri gli studenti partecipanti si confrontano, si scambiano la propria visione delle tematiche proposte, illustrano le proprie prospettive ed esprimono le proprie opinioni e i propri sentimenti.
Dal 10 al 17 novembre 2024 8 studenti di diverse classi e 2 docenti parteciperanno al progetto “Intercultural Seminar: Europa & EU – What’s next“.
Saranno coinvolti più di 60 studenti provenienti da 8 città:
- Vrchlabi (Repubblica Ceca)
- Vasteras (Svezia)
- Liepaja (Lettonia)
- Hannover (Germania)
- Banja Luka (Bosnia)
- Sieradz (Polania)
- Madrid (Spagna)

In times of the threatening of European democracies by disinformation campaigns, of augmenting problems with cybermobbing in schools and elsewhere and the more often seen problems with the lack of self-esteem (of especially young persons) because of the heavy use of Social Media: Isn’t it time to think about a stricter regulation of the Social Networks through laws – or is the freedom of speech endangered if governments, with their political agendas, are trying to regulate Social Media?
